Detailed analysis of a music video

Paloma Faith 'Picking up the pieces'.

The first shot in this music video is of a dark house on a hill. This could be because of the songs content of a girl who is not recognised to be a good thing but  is being portrayed as someone who is with someone who is thinking about a former ex. Throughout the music video it is like a progression through the short break that the couple is on. The clothing with in this music video is vintage. That is Paloma Faith's style f clothing that is known to b her signature. There is a lot of symmetry of the camera shots through out the video. The tracking shot of one of the twins shows the progression or the build to the climax of the song. The significance of the wax falling on the floor could be a sign of the near ending of the music video. As the wax falls off of Paloma and then continues to fall. This could signify the light fading or the end of the light. The way that all the extras dance is peculiar and different. Their movements are a lot like the movements which she makes when she performs live. At the end of the video it is like there is a sudden realisation of what is right. But this is her imagination and it ends with the car driving off in the distance. This video reminds me a lot of an old movie. There are a lot of close ups of parts of Paloma's face and hands as they are being taken over by the wax.
