The stereo typical features of rock music are drugs, sex, rebellion and violent behaviour.

'Rock music is a genre of popular music that originated as "rock and roll" in the United States in the 1950s, and developed into a range of different styles in the 1960s and later, particularly in the United Kingdom and the United States.' (Taken from Wikipedia).

Rock and roll has influenced fashion, attitudes and daily lives. As the rock and roll generation matured, the music was interwoven in to the popular culture. Drugs have always been the main feature of rock.

Over the years because of the broad genre different styles have been created such as Rockers. Punk was created and that style has has influenced many current bands and the current fashion. The current rock look is mainly black or dark colours. Emo is one style that has come from rock which is easy to spot. They are recognised for their love of skulls, death and black. Black Veil Brides and My Chemical Romance are branded as emo.

The most common generalisation of a rock fan with in their style is leather jackets, black skinny jeans, band t-shirts and all around black clothing. As well as dark make- up.

If the stereo type of a rock fan is rebellion, then we could assume the target audience could cause trouble and be with the anti- society subculture. Some leisure activities that they stereo typically are known for are taking drugs, smoking, devoting their lives to the music and going to gigs.
